Not sure what to say?

May you Rest In Peace Omer!

You were a great instructor.

50 years ago I traveled to Cleveland to take a welding course taught by Omar. Even though the course was only a few days long it was an experience I will always remember. To this day his autographed copy of "Design of Welded Structures" is my go to reference on anything to do with welding. May he rest in peace.

A true legend both professionally and personally. Omer exemplified what it means to possess true expertise with the ability share it humbly and willingly.

I had Omer for a welding design class in the early 1980s. He was a true gentleman, and I have respected and cherished his contribution to engineering and to myself as an example for all of these years. He will be missed by the great many engineers that he has taught over his career.

Richard S. Sherren, P.E.

Omer was a great friend and mentor to me. I had the great fortune to work with him for 12 years on the AWS Structural Welding Committee and to have him speak at the Annual Structural Conference in Omaha, NE. He was a great gentleman and kind to everyone he met. The Engineering Community has sustained a great loss, but his legacy will live on and on.

I was very fortunate to have studed with Mr. Omer Blodgett in my career. I also had the opportunity to talked with Omer litle in spanish about my country Peru. He was not only a legend in the welding industry globally, Welding industry pioneer and Lincoln Electric's Employee of the Century but he was also my master.
He will truly be missed, but He will live on in the minds of welding engineers around the world
God Bless

What a beautiful couple

I was extremely fortunate to have worked closely with Omer Blodgett early in my career. I also had the opportunity to travel with Omer on numerous business trips, where I witnessed his gentle, humble, and respectful nature first hand. He also loved his wife, Dorothy, and Bob, Linda and his grandkids so much! He talked about them all the time at work. Omer was a great example to me, and I have learned a great deal from him as a mentor. He was not only a legend in the welding industry...

My Heart goes out to you in the loss of such a wonderful father/ father-in-law/ grandfather/uncle. I have fond memories of Bob's mom (Dorothy) and dad (Omer) when they lived in Lyndhurst years ago. May the peace of knowing he is at rest with Jesus be a great comfort to you.
