I first met Mr. Cooper back in the mid-Seventies when I worked for Mr. Eddie Scott at the Race Relations Center. I will always remember him as being a gracious, charming gentleman. He was a strong advocate of equal opportunity and he also had a fine sense of humor. I last saw him a couple of years ago at a community event and met his lovely wife. To me, he was still the same "Onie" as I remembered so long ago. God Bless Him and his Family. He will be missed.

He was my father, my teacher, my greatest supporter and the best man any son could ever think of asking for. I will miss his voice of wisdom and true calm through every storm.
