Opal Dyrstad Ramin

Ramin, Opal Dyrstad age 78, of Brooklyn Center, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. Russell Ramin; and daughter, Kathy. Survived by her daughters, Dr. Susan Ramin (Norman Lester, Jr.), Kaye Anderson (Mark); her sons, Karl Ramin and Dr. Kirk Ramin; grandchildren, Amanda, John, Kathy, Seth, Jared, Chase and Trevor; sister, Laura Bodger; brothers, George Dyrstad (LaVerne), Melford Dyrstad (Alice); nieces and nephews. Member of Elim Lutheran Church of Robbinsdale, Kidney Foundation, and Braille Institute. She typed braille books and established the Children's Kidney Disease Society. She was a graduate of Edison H.S., with a degree from U of M Ed., and St. Catherine's in Latin studies. Memorials preferred to Braille Institute and Alzheimer's Association.
