Ramin, Opal Dyrstad age 78, of Brooklyn Center, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. Russell Ramin; and daughter, Kathy. Survived by her daughters, Dr. Susan Ramin (Norman Lester, Jr.), Kaye Anderson (Mark); her sons, Karl Ramin and Dr. Kirk Ramin; grandchildren, Amanda, John, Kathy, Seth, Jared, Chase and Trevor; sister, Laura Bodger; brothers, George Dyrstad (LaVerne), Melford Dyrstad (Alice); nieces and nephews. Member of Elim Lutheran Church of Robbinsdale, Kidney Foundation, and Braille Institute. She typed braille books and established the Children's Kidney Disease Society. She was a graduate of Edison H.S., with a degree from U of M Ed., and St. Catherine's in Latin studies. Memorials preferred to Braille Institute and Alzheimer's Association. Burial Crystal Lake Cemetery. Memorial Services Saturday 11:30 AM, with visitation beginning one hour prior at: Billman-Hunt Chapel 2701 Central Ave NE 612-789-3535

My Name is Amy Domstrand Caldwell(36 yrs old) daughter of George Domstrand. My most favorite memories of Opal is on the farm, when I was maybe 8 or 10. She made Jodi and I feel soo welcome. I remember asking about the jars and strips that catch the flies. Carl giving us a tour of all the barns, and holding the baby pigs. I guess I even kissed one.
