MILES, Ora Elva, 80, of Richmond, Va., co-owner of Anderson's Grill for 35 years, departed this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Miles; and two sisters, Bertha Wingfield and Callie Carter. She leaves to cherish her memory two stepdaughters, Patricia Alexander and Mertha Christian; one stepson, Norris Harris; a host of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; two godchildren, Tracey Edwards and Travis Wright; four sisters, Estelle Fox, Arthalia Allen, Sallie Ballard and Eulalia Bobbitt; six nieces, Henrietta Gattison (Rev. Bobby L. Gattison), Ellen Jefferson, Vivian Reynolds, Delores Ballard, Myrtle Wright (Paul) and Phyllis Coleman (Oliver); three nephews, Hosea Fox (Beverely), Clarence Ballard Jr. (Kathleen) and Rev. Alphonso Miles; devoted cousins, Ophelia Lewis; devoted friends, Deborah Williams, Henry and Carolyn Chavis, Mary Lewis, Mae Taylor, Juanita Garnett, Rev. C. L. Motley; and a host of other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the staff of Henrico Doctors' Hospital - Forest and Hospice of Virginia. Remains rest at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where viewing will be held on Sunday, February 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Funeral services at 12 noon on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 West Cary Street. Rev. John Rustin, eulogist. Interment Riverview Cemetery.

To the family, i will truely miss ora. during her hospital stay i would often go by henrico drs and when there was no one there with her which was not often, miss ora and i would have wonderful talks and prayer together. I will miss her smile and her tenderness. we have truely lost a great soldier in the army of the lord and one of the youth"s biggest supporters.
