Ora Mae Morgan Dateline: Bonham, Texas
Saturday, June 16, 2007, Ora Mae Morgan, age 95, of Bonham, departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father. Ora’s race is over, she has fought the fight, kept the faith and entered into the joy of the Lord.
A devout Baptist, she had an abundance of faith and was filled with compassion. She loved her family dearly and looked forward to all of the special times she spent with them. Her walk with the Lord was so evident in the life she lived that she has established a strong heritage for her family and friends to follow.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. W.C. “Bill” Beasley will officiate.
Ora Mae was born August 11, 1911 in Peacock, Texas, daughter of Fletch and Maggie Vaughan. She was a graduate of Peacock, Texas High School. She married Sam Morgan in Peacock, Texas on Nov. 21, 1931 and he preceded her in death in July 28, 1987. She was a Sunday school teacher for the First Baptist Church of Bonham and member of the “Pink Lady” Hospital Auxiliary, Joy Club and Rockhound Club. She enjoyed china painting, oil painting and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her daughter Betty Hancock in 1997 and 6 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are:
1 Son: Morgan Jr. of Marshfield, MO
1 Daughter: Melba Justiss and husband, Jimmy of Bonham, TX
1 Sister: Wanda Sherman of Abilene, TX
9 Grandchildren; Debra McKee (Benny) of Arlington, TX, Tina Cassell (Tinker) of Ocean Springs, MS, Scott Justiss (Donna) of Mesquite, TX, Keith Parker (Karen) of Stephenville TX, Kim Wright (Gary) of Midland, TX, Kevin Parker (Dana) of Stephenville, Kathi Robert (Chris) of Pittsburgh, TX, Sam Arlin Morgan III (Jan) of Little Elm, Texas, and Casey Morgan of Madill, OK
16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Keith Parker, Sam Morgan III, Kevin Parker, Scott Justiss and Casey Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers are great-grandsons Josh Blain, Nick Blain, Adam Justiss, Tyler Robert, Casey Morgan Jr. and Harley Morgan.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m Monday, prior to the graveside service. Online guest register www.wisefuneralhome.com
