No words can express the total sense of loss and sadness I have been experiencing these past few weeks, along with the complete acknowledgment and awareness that my loss is nothing compared to yours.

Oriane's and my life-paths kept crossing, serendipitiously, all the way back from our childhood and high school years in Paris, to our adult years (as wives, mothers and lawyers) in L.A. Our respective careers brought us back in touch and...

To Eric, Ethan and Eloise, the Sicard and Shevin families:

I am so saddened by the sudden loss of your wife, your mommy, your daughter, your sister and my new friend. What a wonderful person Oriane was, I was just starting to get to know her. We did share those wonderful golf games.

To Oriane: I am so sorry that I wasn't able to attend your service. I am on the other side of the world and think about you all the time. I will miss you.

nous ne nous sommes rencontrés qu'une dizaine de fois, mais ces trop rares moments partagés avec vous et Oriane m'ont offert de connaître une jeune femme merveilleuse, une maman aimante et attentionnée, qui avait la qualité précieuse de communiquer la bonne humeur à quiconque croisait son chemin.

Oriane, je n'oublierais pas ton sourire radieux de jeune maman épanouie par sa seconde grossesse, un certain soir d'été à l'Ile d'Yeu, où...

Oriane était belle, lumineuse, rayonnante comme l'astre solaire. Sa gaité et sa joie de vivre nous habiteront toujours. Sa disparition est un chagrin immense pour tous ceux qui l'ont connue.Elle nous manque déjà tant.J'adresse mes plus affectueuses pensées à sa famille, à Eric, à ses enfants, Ethan et Eloïse, dont je partage la douleur.

How grateful I am to have known Oriane, and truly blessed to count her among my friends in this life. Still resounding in my ears is her buoyant laughter – it was pure delight.

We hope that Eric, Ethan and Eloise and your family are filled with the love that surrounds them and find peace in knowing that this is not goodbye, but rather, until we meet again.
