When our annual Christmas letter was returned by the US Post Office, I feared Orris had passed. He and I served in the Fort Jackson, SC, Public Information Office together for nearly two years during 1956-58. And, he often visited Myrtle Beach, SC area with golfing buddies and we would get to see him then. I grew up in Carey, Ohio. We always watched the Channel 10 news, so we of course always got our sports from Mr. Tabner. Each Christmas I would always enjoy his rendition of "Yes Virginia, There is a a Santa Claus." I was actually watching the cartoon version of this...which made me think of him.
