Richmond Hill Funeral Home - Richmond Hill Obituary

Heaven gained one of our own, but while he may no longer be here, he is flying high with the Lord’s heavenly angels. Our hearts are broken as we mourn the passing of a Godly man, Orson William Swofford, Jr. on February 8, 2021. He was a man of many names. To some he was known as the Cookie...

Not sure what to say?

Orson, Trina and their daughters visited Trina’s parents on Talahi Island regularly. The grandparents (Cecil & Geneva Dickey) lived next to my family home. I have very fond memories of the Swafford family. They were kind & loving people and Orson & Trina were wonderful parents. How interesting that my wife and two daughters would happen upon Orson & Trina at Dollywood many years later. God Bless you all.

Oh how the memories of Orson have flooded my thoughts these past days. He will always be remembered as the legendary Cookie Monster to our children. To me he was the smiling, firm
hugging friend that always had a word of encouragement for me. Our thoughts and prayers are still being whispered for all of you as you adjust to life without him.

It was an honor to have met and developed a friendship with such a Godly man. You will be missed, but we will see you again.

Trina I am so sorry to hear of Orson's passing. He will forever be The Cookie Monster. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love you.

Orson always greeted me with a firm handshake, great smile, and a love for the Lord. He will certainly be missed however through the tears of sadness and grieving hearts we can all hold to this hope: one day we will see our dear brother again and walk along the streets of gold with him in the presence of our blessed Savior. Hallelujah! What a day that will be! <

We will surely miss Orson....such a Godly man, and a man in love with his family. Orson was a friend to most and tender towards children. The Cookie Monster will be remembered always.
