Orvel was brightly leading students thru transition from Central to South when I met him circa 1968 (?) -- I couldn't completely avoid him from then on -- nor did I want to. He became an advisor, counselor, fundraiser, rabble rouser, historian, writer, Kiwanian, leader, supporter, client, and friend. Orvel was a joy to sit with at the KU basketball games. He always had a joke and a smile. My thoughts are with the family.

Mrs. Criqui and family,
My sympathy to you in the loss of Dr. Criqui. As principal of Central Junior High he hired me for my first teaching job when I graduated from Emporia State. I remember his excellent guidance and leadership.
