Not sure what to say?

I am EvaFinley -Gumbs from NJ. I just read his on line tributes and obituary. Orville and I were at Univ of Wisconsin at the same time. He took me to one of his fights. He was soft spoken and a gentleman in every way.
I left UW after my first year and never saw Orville again.
My condolences to his family while late, are sincere. May he Rest In Peace and rise in glory.

I remember Mr. Orville Pitts as a gentleman and a scholar. He was a man of honor and also a fine lawyer. Rest in peace Mr. Pitts. I thank God for allowing us to know you for while you were here.

At the lowest point of my life, this kind and generous man offered assistance which kept me going both spiritually, psychologically and in every other way. I owe him an enormous debt of gratitude. The dignity and respect he displayed through his own ordeals showed me the way to a better future. God bless his family for sharing him with us all these years.

Nothing I give you, Father, could repay you for your sacrifice. But I want to give you what You would think is beautiful. I give You my heart today in thankfulness for your love

It was a true privilege to have worked with Orville as his Deputy Campaign Manager during his run for Congress. During those months, I learned so much about Orville and his family, and what drove him to excel in everything that he attempted to do. He was the best speaker and orator that I have ever heard! He will truly be remembered. R.I.P. "Bubbie."

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

To my dear, loving sister Kim. My heart is so heavy for all of you. You all are in my prayers. This is the time for Orville's days of peace. We will all have our day of peace.Be strong for each other. This is what Orville would have wanted. We are able to endure all things through Jesus Christ who strengthen us. God Is Able. Gone but not forgotten. Love Sheryl

Denisse, May the Lord's love comfort you and give you strength as you walk through this difficult time. We're praying for you.

Orville and I were both on the U of Wisconsin boxing team, and were roommates on trips when boxing other universities. On those trips, Orville met challenges both inside and outside the ring. Not only was Orville a great boxer, and a champion in many tournaments, but he had tremendous insight into the social challenges we encountered as we traveled the country. He was my teacher in how to handle similar challenges and I will always be indebted. My condolences to Orville's family. Truman...
