Not sure what to say?

Oscar, a great friend and coworker. As a "Boot" at old station 4 in 1960, I fought my first building fire with Oscar. He helped me thru the first 6 months of my probationary period. Throughout his long career, he never stopped helping others. I only have the best of memories of Oscar. My thoughts and prayers go out to Alicia and family. Oscar, rest in peace with our Lord and Savior, You have earned it.

Our family first met the Baca family 34 years ago when we purchased the house next door that his family built. The Baca's oldest daughter, Corina, was our first babysiiter to our new born son at the time who is now 34 years old. Corina and her sisters did an excellant job in babysitting our two children and that's how we became friends with the Baca family. Oscar was a quiet friendly person who really cared for his family. We will miss seeing him tend to his garden, his house, and his family....

Oscar and I came on together Oct 26,59 and we finished working together at my retirement. Many may not know this, but Oscar was very interested in spiritual things. We spent many evenings reading and discussing the bible. I consideresd him a real friend. On one occasion I told him he was a good friend and he replied. I don't have any friends, just aquaintences. This was so typical of macho veneer we all knew. He and I both knew that he had many friends. Oscar it has been nice to have had...

Oscar was always a GOOD friend of mine, and I will aways remember him.

It is with a heavy heart I get the opportunity to make an entry into this book. When hearing of Oscars' passing I immediately welled up and was deeply saddend. Capt. Baca was my first Captain after probation. My training and probation period educated me. Oscar took the time to teach and develope me into a "firefighter" with guts and compassion. I have not met before or since anyone that measures even close to the style and grace of Oscar Baca. I haven't even thought of Oscar in years yet his...

Dear "Double O",

Thank you for all you did for me during my career. You and Ed Lovio favored me at a time when I needed it badly and I have never forgotten. I learned much, especially how firefighters should get along with each other and with the community and about firefighting. You had a down to earth and gentle manner. I always thought you to be an excellent leader. I will miss you as a person yet I carry with me many, many lessons taught by you. Young firefighters today do not...

Our condolences to the Baca Family. OO and I were very good friends. We shared a locker at "Old" Sta. 1 for many years. Many good memories of our escapades.
God Bless you Alicia, Corina & family.

Was great working with him for twenty years.

To Family of Chief Oscar Baca:

It is always sad to hear of the passing of a friend or mentor from the fire service, and to me Chief Oscar Baca was both. The news about Oscar brought back all the fond memories of Chief Oscar Baca. It made me realize that we need to give thanks to those in the fire service that have gone before us and showed us the way. Everyone we meet has a distinct impact on our life and Oscar had positive impact on my life and many others.
Chief Baca was my...
