Deacon Oscar Freeman Brown, A native of Sunflower, AL., and a resident of Mt. Vernon, AL., departed this life to be with his heavenly father on Monday, November 23, 2015. He was born on September 15, 1933 to the union of the late Peter and Mary Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 46 years Evelyn (Joe) Sommervill, Chicago, IL., Sandra Summage, Chicago, IL., James (Shelia) Green, MT. Vernon, AL., and Etinya Brown Holifield, Mt. Vernon, AL.; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one devoted goddaughter, Ayana Irby, Atlanta, GA.; a devoted nephew, Cleon Brown, Sr.; two sisters, Claudia Johnson, Mobile, AL., and Geraldine Brown, Mobile, AL.; three, sisters-n-law, Rosetta Huff, Saraland, AL., Olivette Brown, Citronelle, AL., Patricia Roach, Palm By, FL.; three brothers-n-law, Charles Green, Mt. Vernon, AL., Travis (Lorraine) Greene, Boston, MA., George Greene, Munich, Germany; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at Williams Chapel Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, AL. Rev. Kelvin Maye Pastor and Officiating Minister.
