I was sorry to hear of Dr. Mitchell's passing. He was truly a brilliant and wonderful instructor who cared about the progress of the students in the Speech Pathology Dept. at Southern University. His contributions to the profession will continue to bear fruit in the lives of his students.

Our condolences to the family of Dr. Mitchell. Although we have not had the privilege of meeting him, we have seen his influence through his son Oscar. Based on what Oscar has shared and the way that we have seen Oscar live his life, Dr. Mitchell lived a great life and he leaves a strong legacy.

Dr. Mitchell was one of the cornerstones of the Special Education Department at Southern University. I will remember him as a man of quite spirit, few words, and a wonderful soft sense of humor.
