CUYAHOGA FALLS –Oscar L. "Bud" Ostlund, 88, passed away Feb.10, 2012. Bud was born in Cleveland on July 6, 1923 and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1941. During WWII he was an air dock worker for Goodyear Aerospace. He then worked for Western Electric, Ohio Bell and AT&T for 44 years in the toll test dept. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He loved music, and he played country music on the steel guitar in local bands for 35 years. Bud loved working around the house, gardening and decorating his house at Christmas time. Preceded in death by his wife, Lois of 56 years; parents, John L. and Orpha; sister, Josephine and brother, John, he is survived by his children, Jeanette (William) Kremer of Brimfield, Robert (Terry) Ostlund, John (Cindy) Ostlund, Shelley (Richard) Ely and Scott (Joanne) Ostlund, all of Cuyahoga Falls; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wed. Feb. 15 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, Feb. 16. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Falls Firefighters and Community Society, Inc., P.O. Box 189, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44222.
