Oscar Rodriguez, Sr., 64, entered the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Solara Hospital in Harlingen, Texas.

Oscar was a resident of Harlingen for the past 20 years but was born & raised in Florida where he attended Florida public schools and played football for Lakeworth High School. He was well known for being an excellent softball, baseball, & football coach to many youth in the youth leagues in West Palm Beach, Florida where he made many lifelong relationships year after year of coaching. When Oscar stopped coaching, he learned how to become a great Tejano dancer. He loved listening to music, dancing, and having a good time. Oscar dedicated five decades to his profession as a drywall hanger and framer, a career that instilled a profound sense of pride within him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Samuel “Sammy” Oscar Rodriguez, and his sister, Isabel Eastman.

Oscar leaves behind his loving family to cherish his wonderful memory, his beloved common law wife, Graciela Muniz; children, Oscar Rodriguez Jr. & Maryann Rodriguez; granddaughter, Alexis Guzman; siblings, Rosie Gonzalez, Roberto Rodriguez Jr., Alma (Javier) Velasquez, Ruben Rodriguez, Virginia Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez, Jesus Garcia, & George Garcia, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
