Oscar Charles Saad, 67, of 201 Riveredge Dr., Moore, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at McCall Hospice House. Born in Wheeling, WV, he was a son of the late Oscar Charles and Marie Simon Saad. He served his country in the US Army. Mr. Saad was a graduate of the University of Detroit, with a degree in chemical engineering. Prior to his retirement, he was founder and president of Quality Carbide. Mr. Saad was also a member of St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Mission in Greenville and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Saad, of the home; daughter, Dawn Bibbes and husband Ted of Cumming, GA; three sons, Ken Saad and wife Amy of Spartanburg, Dr. Daniel Saad and wife Katie of Concord, NC, and Michael Saad and wife Lauralee of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Preston, Palmer, Pryce, Isabella, Ben, and Marianna Saad and Charlotte Bibbes; one sister, Janet Saad-Cook, of Richmond, VA; and one brother, Charles Saad, of Colorado Springs, CO. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with receiving until 8:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Mission Building Fund, 111 Hampton Ave., Greenville, SC 29601. The family is at the residence.
