Dear Doug and Judy - and "The Boys",
Your father and grandfather will be missed. He was a gracious and gentle giant of a man, who always wore a smile. We are very sorry for your loss.

It was a privledge to have worked with such a fine man (and his proud family). I know he will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers to all of the Spaly's.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

Dear Bob, Greg, Doug, & Judy,

I am so sorry to hear about Oscar's passing. Although I haven't seen Oscar (and most of you guys) for quite a while he was very instrumental in my real estate career. Oscar, Dick Caldwell & Windell Hobbs took a chance on a very young man and gave me the instruction and guidence that served me well during my real estate career.

Even though I'm now retired and not part of the AA scene, I have fond memories of Oscar, Lois and all of you....

There are a few individuals in this world that truly lift the spirits of all those they encounter. They do this by being kind, positive and concerned about all those they meet. Oscar was a very prominent person but projected himself as a very simple man. He was a customer of mine but all of my store's employees genuinely loved dealing with him. A tremendous man and a large loss to our city.

My sincerest condolences to Doug and Becky and to all of the family. Beyond his enduring achievements, Oscar was a great guy and a wonderful father. I have so many warm memories of his generous and friendly way, and of his humor and smile. I will miss Oscar. My many good memories will be lasting.

Judy and Family,
I am saddened to hear of your father's passing. I have not seen your Dad in years but remember him with fond memories.

I was saddened and surprised to hear about Oscar's illness and passing. I have fabulous fond memories of Oscar and Lois and their never ending generosity and good humor when I was a teenager and young adult. I remember once coming to the house to hook up with Judy, she was not home. Oscar of course failed to mention that until we were in the kitchen and he was assuring us she would be home soon, but wouldn't we like to stay and have some popcorn with them. I have kept him in my mind as I have...

Your Dad was a huge asset to the Ann Arbor Community and will be missed. I will always remember him with a smile on his face. You were lucky to have such a great father. I'm so sorry for your loss.
