Paul Funeral Home of Washington Obituary

Mr. Otha “Lee” Chandler III, a resident of Vanceboro, NC, died Monday January 10, 2022 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held later.

Lee was born in Beaufort County on September 18, 1966, son of the late Otha Lee “Buddy Boy” Chandler, Jr., and the late Judy Ann Mutherspaw Chandler.

He recently was recognized for twenty years of service with The Roberts Company where he worked as an electrician and was eventually promoted to “White Hat”.  Lee was a hardworking, dedicated employee who valued each individual’s contributions to the team of which he was a part.  His personality made him one of the most likeable people you could meet.  He loved his family and was a loyal friend.  Those who only knew Lee in passing will sense his absence, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.  Lee was not someone who was easily forgotten, and while he may be gone from our sight, he will never leave our hearts.

Survivors include a son: Lee Wayne Chandler of Winterville; a sister: Beverly Chandler Taylor of Washington and his long-term companion: Tonya Smith Ericksen of Vanceboro.  He was predeceased, along with his parents, by his paternal grandparents: Otha Lee Chandler, Sr. and Katie Frances Williams Chandler; his maternal grandparents: Raymond and Quillie Mutherspaw; and a nephew: Gary Isaac Taylor, Jr.

Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington is honored to serve the Chandler family.

Not sure what to say?

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Sorry for your loss sending prayers for all at this difficult time.

Will miss seeing you and getting a much needed hug. You and Buddy can hang out together .

So sorry for your loss. Keeping you in my prayers.

Lee Chandler was one of the best friends you could ever meet or have. We spent alot of time hiding at Dupont when we were supposedly work. Brother you will be missed.

Lee was a good cousin and a hard worker. I remember several years ago we worked together in Tehachapi California with his dad Uncle Buddy. We got a few days off and went to Las Vegas and had a great time! I will remember the good times we all had together. I ask our heavenly father to give comfort to Beverly, Lee's other family and friends at this time. ❤✝
