Not sure what to say?

Otto's support and encouragement were invaluable; his dignity was inspiring; and his keen mind always put me to shame! I shall miss him but shall treasure many fond memories from nearly twenty years of working together. My thoughts are with Otto's entire family.

I am saddened to learn of Otto's untimely demise. He was a dedicated husband, father and scholar. I will miss him deeply.

My sympathy goes out to the Grundler family. Dr. Grundler was a kind and encouraging advisor, teacher, and friend. His contribution to organizing the collegial presentation of ideas about medieval history, literature, and art will continue long into the future.

Amy Dawson (Institute, 1996)

I was so sorry to hear of Otto's passing. The Grundler family is in our thoughts and prayers.

-The Lawson Family (Tom, Ruth, Jennifer and Sonya)

Dr. Gründler changed my life. He made it possible for me to meet some the most extraordinary people imaginable, and some of my most dear friends. I will remember him for his gentle kindness, warm support, and for his wonderful laugh. I will miss him. My deepest sympathies to his family. (Medieval Institute '94)

My sincerest sympathy to the entire family. Dr. Grundler was a cultured and humane man in the best sense of the words. Without his work to enable the Medieval Convocation to be held each year, my life would have been unimaginably poorer. I will miss his elegance and his sense of humor.

Jeremy Adams and Bonnie Wheeler send their condolences to Otto's family.
