Not sure what to say?

Our sincere condolences to the Rogers family for their loss of Otto (Don). I believe him to be an artist of the highest accomplishment and a person of exemplary character.

I am profoundly grateful to Otto for recommending that I be hired for a sabbatical replacement position at the University of Saskatchewan in 1972. During the inspiring year that we lived in Saskatoon, I had the great privilege of working under his knowledgeable, dedicated, and empathetic departmental leadership,...

I studied 2-D Design with Otto in the early 1970's in Saskatoon, and appreciated his gentle manner and thoughtful insights- we shared a love of the prairie. I also worked with Barbara on a community arts project " Art Involvement", and send her and her family healing thoughts at this time of transition. I will continue to learn from Otto/ Don through his work and his ideas and teachings that have been recorded and shared. Sending love, and respect for a fine artist and educator, who lived his...

Dear Family and Friends,

I recall with warmth and affection our days of service together. Don's calm, yet penetrating vision, revealed a deep certitude regarding the Divine Presence in our midst. His artistic endeavors are a rich legacy for lovers of beauty. I prayer that aspiring artists will fine in his work a standard of excellence that compels them to seek the horizon of perfection.

With gratitude,

My condolences to the family and Barbara of course. Otto was and always will be a brilliant Canadian artist in my world. So individual and so special, his work stands out always...He was special as we all know. Peace to all who know and to his spirit.

My sincere Condolences to Otto Rogers family. Otto was my grad supervisor at U of S in 1981 - 83. His professionalism, relaxed demeanor, and deep knowledge of art, painting, and abstraction made a big impression on me. His personal and artistic legacy are entrenched in not only Canadian cultural history, but well beyond our national borders.

The legacy of Otto Donald Rogers
There is an inscrutable wisdom in life. One example is the fact that we cannot have a real-life conversation, as planned, this evening (May 2, 2019) with well-known Canadian painter and sculptor Otto Donald Rogers (Don) because he died four days ago in Picton, Ontario. However, since he was collaborating unstintingly with us here in Cornwall in the days before he died, it is only appropriate and fitting that we take some time at the start of our session...

Don will live in my memory as an artistic and spiritual mentor, and someone who stayed true to his beliefs in word and deed. Goodbye for now, dear friend.
