I have known and loved Ouida longer than most of you have been alive. Ouida and her sister Ruth were my Mother's best friends since they were in elementary school together in Mertzon. My Mother was LaRue Crowell Montgomery. Almost every year we would go to Dallas to visit Ouida or she would come down to Houston to see us.
