Not sure what to say?

Ovid Young´s abilities astounded me as a freshman in 1967, and he continued to do so - especially his arrangements for Hale and Wilder. I think I own all the CDs he has available. He did not know me, I was an English major, but I appreciated and admired his astounding talent throughout my life. God Bless his children and grandchildren. As I write this I know his wife is with him. I listen to his legacy daily.

It is a cool, rainy day and we are listening to Ovid's Celebration of Praise. May you be encouraged that his music goes on...

I am grateful for memories of Ovid Young! I found Ovid warm in greeting and conversation, eager to give of himself. Remembered is a Musician who engaged the composition with heart and notes to bless and bring joy, captivating listeners. He was skilled technically and creatively. His heart was one that radiated praise to Almighty God. He served. He gave. We were always blessed.

Was this the Ovid Young who teamed up with Stephen Nielson as duo pianists?

Dear Laura and family,

I was thinking of Ovid only today remembering when he was was performing with Robert Hale and Dean Wilder. What a tremendous gifted person he was. His music arrangements is still lifting my heart and soul today. To God be the glory. We will see him again.

Sincerely,

I am very sad to learn of Ovid's passing. Seems like yesterday when Ruthmarie Eimer, Ovid, and I were friends, fellow music students at Olivet in the early sixties. He was a fine person and an extremely gifted musician. May he rest in peace.

We are so sorry to hear about Mr. Young! He touched our family's & neighborhood family's lives every Christmas when he and Mrs. Young invited us over. They would ask our children to play on their Grand Piano, listen with sincerest interest, and compliment them with praises. Mr. Young would then play a short performance, which always inspired us and filled our holidays with joy!! What a truly talented and loving friend! He was so humble and generous; we had no idea that he was world renown...

It was always a blessing to hear Ovid and Stephen Neilson play the piano together. At First Baptist Church-Plano we were able to hear them several times. I appreciate the musical response that he composed for our church. We sing it every Sunday!!!
