Not sure what to say?

We have so many fond memories of Owen & Jan when we lived in Torrey. They will be missed. Brenda & Hank Winawer

One of my favorite law professors at the University of Utah College of Law, 1974-75. He was an entertaining and knowledgeable teacher who knew everyone´s name by sight on the first day of his Property II class of 50 plus students. Over the years, as a practicing lawyer and Utah State District Court trial judge, I´ve thought about and appreciated how and what he taught me personally.

A wonderful tribute. Thanks be to those who contributed. Owen's father Roy was the Stake President for 29 years of the Millard Stake. At their home, up the street, we spent many hours playing in the backyard, and across the street at LeGrands basketball court. A great "family legend"

Owen and Jan were our neighbors in Ivins and graciously invited us to their home in Teasdale where their hospitality was so appreciated along with our conversations on their front patio filled with his knowledge of the environment and love of family. We miss them both.

I first encountered Owen in 1973 at a Constitutional Law class at the University of Utah College of Law. He was very impressive on the first day of class - he walked in and it became readily apparent that he had memorized the name of each of the 80+ students in the class. Very intimidating but ultimately rewarding. He was a very good teacher.

Owen Olpin was unforgettable as a professor of law at the University of Utah -- he was the best of the best and anyone who had the privilege of being taught by him knew that. One of the more astonishing things about him we all vividly recall was that, on the very first day of his constitutional law classes, he already knew by heart each student's name -- which he of course then always used when he called on us to answer questions. His was a remarkable presence on the legal landscape, and...

I was blessed to be able to grow up in the same neighborhood in Fillmore with Owen Olpin and his three brothers. They were four of the finest men anyone could ever be around, always setting a good example for other kids. Jim Jackson, Layton Utah
