Hey Grandaddy! Did you see me wipe out on the stairs the other day? Yikes! Granny happened to call that night and couldn't believe it. She's doing so much better. She is one tough cookie. But I guess you already knew that. :)
And how about Bennett and Zella? What a pair. I really wish they could have known you. Zella's curious about you. She's trying to figure out who you were and why you're not here anymore.
I miss you terribly. Thinking of you.
Love,
Jess

Hi Grandaddy! Zella asked about you the other day. She wanted to know where Bee's daddy was. It's hard to know what to tell a 2 1/2 year old. I told her that you had died but that she was named for you, that Bee and Granny and Mama miss you terribly. You would enjoy Zella and Bennett so much, and the whole ever-expanding bunch of great-grandkids. They're really amazing. I love you and miss you.

Hi Grandaddy! I miss you. I wish you could meet Zella - you'd really get a kick out of her! She's almost two now and has a baby brother on the way. You're going to be a great-grandaddy all over again! I love you.

Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the...
