I enjoyed reading this history of Mr. Nerland. It was a wonderful tribute to a very seeminly worthy man. We only know a few of his family, one being our sweet daughter-in-law, Janice. Our thoughts go out to her and the rest of the Nerland family on the loss of this great man. Wish we could have met him.

I did not get to see my Uncle Maynard, as we in Alberta called him, very often but when I was around him, I was in ah. He was such a distinguished man. My son has sat in amazement as I shared the story of his Great Uncle that served in WWII and then was able to share the story with pride with his class. I was very thankful for Uncle Maynard's service. I feel sad for my Dad, Roy, as he feels the loss of another sibling. I know he wishes to be with you and his brother Gordan at this time.

Our deepest condolances to the family. I have a lot of very fond memories of your Dad. The one I will always remember with a chuckle was when he came over for Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary and we were getting ready to serve the food and he said I haven't been this hungary since I was in a prisoner of war camp. It sure made us laugh. He was a kind and gentle soul. I am sure he is at peace now.
