Pamela Blum was a dear, dear friend. When I was a beginning graduate student at Yale, she was nurturing and so intelligent and fun. She understood the system. When I suffered a chronic fatigue illness later, she and her husband John Blum nurtured me in such kind and patient ways. They were wonderful healers to me.

Pamela was an extraordinary scholar, a great and caring teacher, mentor and friend. She will live on in my heart always.

She was a wonderful and witty woman, both kind and sharp, and a considerable scholar in her field. Her dinner parties - and her partnership with John Blum - were also legendary. A great lady.
