Pamela (Slaughter) Gantt was born October 12, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana to Lula Mae Marshall and J.C. Slaughter. Pam excepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Carter Memorial Church in Gary, Indiana. She was called to rest December 4, 2020. Pam was the best “Bar Maid” ever for the VFW Post 2151 for many years where she met the love of her life Billy Gantt. Pam and Billy married on June 21,2007 and lived a beautiful life of love, laughter and friendship until she was called home to glory. Pam also known as the “Queen” to her family and friends loved to cook and entertain in her home and did it exceptionally well and with flair. Pam had a style and smile that would light up a room. She had a no holds barred personality and had no problem sharing her thoughts.


She was preceded in death by her mother Lula Mae Marshall, her father J.C. Slaughter, brothers Woodie, Jerrold, Ronald, Donald and Michael. Sisters Janet and Sharon and stepdaughter Almena Gantt-Staley. She leaves to mourn her husband Billy Gantt of Gary, IN, sisters Elaine Bradley (Andrew) Morris of Schererville, IN, Karen (David) Foster of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Michelle (Otis) Brown of Las Vegas, NV, Annette Slaughter of Saint Paul, MN, Tammy (Phillip) Hayes of Indianapolis, IN, brother Anthony Slaughter of Columbus, OH, sister-in-law Belinda Leonard of Rialto, CA.


Pam had a beloved extended family including her stepchildren Jacqueline Jones of Niagara Falls, NY, Glen Johnson of San Antonio, TX, Billy (Tiana) Gantt of Chillicothe, OH, Angela Gantt (Latrail Johnson) of Gary, IN, Dashalia West of Gary, IN, Keith Gantt of Gary, IN, Bobby White Gantt of Alabama, son-in-law Ricky Jo Staley of Alabama, close daughter-like friend Quiana Douglas and a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
