Pamela Olin Obituary

Pamela J. Olin

Concord, NH — Pamela J. Olin, 65, a lifelong resident of Concord, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 5, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. She was lovingly cared for at home by her siblings and dear friend Ella Thomas.

Born in Concord, NH on September 6, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Olin and Jacquelyn (Murray) Olin and was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Concord High School in 1974, obtained an Associate's degree in architectural technology at New Hampshire Technical Institute, and then studied at the University of New Hampshire. Pam went on to work for the State of New Hampshire's Electricians' Licensing Board for 38 years, retiring on April 1, 2020.

Pam grew up attending Grace Episcopal Church in East Concord and continued to volunteer at the church throughout her life in many different capacities, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Food Ministry, an Altar Guild member, as chair of the annual Saint Nicholas Fair. Pam was passionate about 4-H and was a member of the Concord Girls Town and Boys Town before becoming a club leader, following in the footsteps of her aunt, Miriam Massey. She enjoyed inspiring others through her love of sewing, crafts, and cooking.

Visiting her home, you would notice that Pam was an avid collector! She enjoyed reading, collecting signed book series, meeting authors and sharing her books with family and friends.

Since childhood, she collected dolls, which she also enjoyed designing and displaying, including characters from her beloved books and movie series. Pam loved attending Renaissance Festivals, wearing costumes she made, Hot Air Balloon Rallies, the New Hampshire Highland Games, and local artisan and craft fairs. When she wasn't working in her vegetable garden or canning, you could find her in the kitchen baking.

Pam was a beloved sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. Family and friends were very important to her and the impact she had on all she met was significant. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sister Katrina Evans and her husband, Arthur "Bud" Evans of Derry, NH, and her brother Michael Olin and his wife, Sandy Olin of Sutton, NH. In addition, she leaves behind her nephew Gabriel Olin of Sutton, NH, her niece Allie Colby of Warner, NH, and her nephew Cameron Colby of Reston, VA, aunts Esther Murray of Concord, NH, Emily Evans of Warren, NH, and Ethel Louise Acton of Plantation, Florida, and many cousins.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 3pm-5pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St., Concord NH. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 1pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 30 Eastman St., Concord NH 03301. The burial will immediately follow the church service at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cemetery St., Concord NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Merrimack County 4-H Foundation, 315 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen NH 03303 or the Take-a-Tote Fund at Grace Episcopal Church, 30 Eastman St., Concord NH 03301.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bennett Funeral Home of Concord, NH.

I just found out Pam had passed and I am very sad she did not get to enjoy retirement, but knowing her work ethics, she would have worked way past retirement age. I worked with Pam in the same office area for quite a few years and enjoyed her friendship and her knowledge of the electrical world. I do not think I ever worked with anyone that was a hard worker like her. I learned from Pam, do not react to anything other than what might hurt you in the end. She was a wonderful person and wish I had gotten to know her better before their office moved to another location. RIP Pam, I will never forget you. Sherry Fish

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Pam at OPLC part-time and learned how to License Electricians with Pam's vast knowledge and help. She was a god send to all Electricians and to the Board of Licensing, she could recite rules and regulations and what was needed to comply. She never raised her voice, always had a smile and was there to help. May you Rest In Peace and keep the Electricians in Check-in from up above. She will be missed by all.
