Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home Obituary

Pamela Pangonis, Glenburn, passed away Friday at Allied Hospice Center in Scranton, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of Joseph Pangonis of Glenburn.


Born in Glenburn, Pa., she was the daughter of William Kenneth and Dora Barber Rees. She was a graduate of Abington Heights and received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 from East Stroudsburg State College. Pamela’s life was marked by her service to the community. At Outreach in Scranton she worked with inmates reentering society from the Lackawanna County Prison. Prior to that she was a center director for United Rehabilitation Services for over 25 years. While there, she worked with individuals who had physical and intellectual disabilities, helping them to find meaningful jobs in society.


Pamela was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abington. She was also a volunteer with the Tunkhannock Kiwanis Club, taking pride in her work with the Wyoming County Fair.


Surviving are a son, Kyle, Glenburn; sister, Elizabeth Osman and her husband, Edward, Glenburn; sister, Rebecca Connor, late husband, Jack, Stroudsburg; her brother, David Rees and his wife, Sandra, Glenburn; brother, Kenneth Lee Rees and his wife, Evelyn, Dalton; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Rees.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

i know pam for a long time she was my boss at united rehab services and between miss reid and her keep me on my feet and keeping me stright and i allso told her that i had a son she was suppised and shocked i am going to miss her alot i feel upset and hurt that she is gone i all so fell bad for all of us that work with her and the family

Pam has left a beautiful imprint on this world with her amazing heart to serve others. How she loved all her family taking such pride in her son ,Kyle. Thank you, Kyle, for making this year a little easier and happier for her with all your kindness. As we are thankful for Pam's life, we grieve for all she left behind.... so I wish you all strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
