Pamela Reid Pitts

Pamela Reid Pitts departed this life on February 23, 2024. Pamela was the third child born to the union of the late Ervin and Edna Weathersby Reid on July 24, 1966.

Pamela was baptized at an early age at Rising Star Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Leon Lafayette. Pam loved the Lord.

Pamela graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1985 and Delgado Community College where she earned her degree in Radiologic Technology. Pamela worked at local hospitals and clinics including Children's Hospital and West Jefferson Medical Center. She received several professional clinical certification; the last one was in Nov 2023. She worked at LCMC Health Family Doctor Clinic in Harvey, La. for 17 years until her death.

Pamela worked at Laitram Corp/Lapeyre where she met and later married the love of her life, John Henry Pitts III and was his devoted wife for 34yrs until his death on October 4, 2023. To this union one child was born, Sydney Tyra.

Pamela leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted daughter Sydney Tyra Pitts. Her. sister, Janice Reid Sayas. Her brothers Mack Alvin & Ervin Tyree (Monique) Reid. Her aunts, Josephine Smith & Penny Bowman. Her uncles, Samuel (Doris) and Curtis (Deborah) Reid. Her sisters in law, Cassandra (James) and Chrishawn. Her nieces, Melissa and Janae Sayas, Sade, Jordan, Jaeilyn, Melody, Ervisha, Erica. Her nephews, Ervin III, Fervelca, Mack Reid Jr., Henry (Krystal), Parker and James (Naesha) and a host of relatives and friends.

 Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life service on Saturday March 9th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Rising Star Baptist Church 1350 S Laurel St, Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the above named church.
