Not sure what to say?

Mr Pennington was a fixture during my days at Slauson Junior High. My favorite class was Enviornmental Education. Getting my Hunter Safety Certification and getting a greater appreciation for the outdoors and what they had to offer. He had a way of making learning fun and connecting with his students. His personality and freindship was also appreciated the numerous times I ran into him up north in a stream fly fishing. He touched many lives and made the world a better place by his being...

I spotted the penned note, written next to his faculty picture in the 1963 Exodus. "Keep up your interest in Speech. You have a real talent there."- Parker Pennington. Always encouraging, always challenging. I also had the good fortune of being in his homeroom. Room 227 is no longer at Slauson; it's a victim of remodeling. But the fond memories of the students in that room and Mr. Pennington's teaching will last a lifetime.

POP3 was my favorite nickname for Mr. Pennington. I've read all the other entries, and agree with each of them. He had such a kind heart, and made speech class my most favorite, as well as our 1963 ninth grade play "Finders Creepers" the best experience of all my AAPS experiences! I am so sorry he's gone, and I know he will be remembered and missed always!

I would like to express my heart felt symphathy to Kim and family. We shared a few humorous exchanges as PARKER stopped in the counseling wing to see Kim. He was a very warm and caring individual. May his memory always be cherished by his family. It is my understanding from talking to those who had an opportunity to work with him that he was an outstanding educator. Kim, I know that you were fortunate to have had such a great husband, provider and father. Love, Cassandra Russell

Farewell to a fine and enterprising fraternity brother. Parker, George Anderson and I were on that same '51 Rose Bowl trip. As I recall, Parker made a sensational hitch hike home from Pasadena. A funny and resourceful guy. My very best wishes and condolences to his loved ones.

I had the priviage of meeting parker at my job in Dexter. I knew him since I started about 4 years ago. He always had the brightest smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was a very nice guy.
My deepest sympanthy to his wife anf family. Your in my prayers.

I didn't know Park very well but have worked with Kim at Pioneer. From the stories I have heard, Park was a pretty wonderful guy and will be truly missed. Kim, Matt and family have my sincere sympathy.

I attended the memorial service Saturday for Parker. I didn't know him, other than seeing him occasionally with Kim at Pioneer, but by the end of the memorial service, sure wish I had known him. My condolences to Kim, Matt, Parker IV, the other children, brothers and many relatives. I know he will be missed by all.

Mr. Pennington was a quiet giant to me who reached me when few others could. To the family, please know that there are literally thousands of his former students whose lives are richer for having learned at his feet. I wish you peace and comfort.
