I have very fond memories of Patrice from my years at the Evergreen School, including our 8th grade trip to Thailand. In fact, my dad and I were literally just reminiscing about the trip two weeks ago. We were saying what a cool lady Patrice was. We had no idea she was ill, but I think it means something that we happened to be thinking of her right around the time of her passing. Dear Bensons, the Johnson family is finding it hard to grasp that a person so full of life and curiosity has left us behind, much too soon. We will try to live with the same enthusiasm and joyfulness that Patrice brought to everything she did, but even speaking of her in the past tense seems incomprehensible. We are thinking of you all, grateful for the example Patrice set, and for the times we spent in her lovely company.
