Wow! I am deeply sadden and shocked to hear of Dr.Basstt's passing. I was looking to give her a call to see how she is doing only to find out that she is gone. I met Dr. Basset back in 1998. My daughter was a student at Omega Academy. Dr. Basset requested that I speak at a parent teachers conference. The conference was held at the Holiday Inn in Phoenix. She requested that I talk about education and the impact of being a teacher. I soon realized that Dr. Bassett was pushing me to use my gifts...

I remember Dr. Bassett from Southern Illinois university, Carbondale Il. I worked for Dr. Bassett. Dr. Bassett was the FIRST BLACK AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE Director of University Career Placement Center. Dr. Bassett was a strong Christian woman as well. Her Cogic Background was strong. We had Prayer every morning before work started. You will be miss. R.I.H Dr. Bassett. Sudonna Lenox and Family Carbondale, Illinois.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Aunt Pat's death. She was truly remarkable and I am sad my daughter won't grow up knowing her great aunt. Our thoughts are with the entire family. Peace to her memory!

Although Dr. Bassett was no-nonsense when it came to our education, she possessed a juvenescent spirit and her inspiration was immeasurable.

Attending Omega Academy, my senior year armored me with efficacious leadership skills, an unequivocal resolve to stand for what's right and an inextinguishable passion to follow my dreams. With these tools, I was able procure a Presidential Scholarship, begin my freshman year, of college, in the Honor's Program and marry my best friend. ...
