Patricia Batiste-Brown passed away in Seattle, Washington. The obituary was featured in The Seattle Times on July 20, 2011.
Ms. Batiste Brown was my Vice Principal at Jane Addams Jr Hi. I suspect I only spoke to her once, in the hall, as I was a kid that never made trouble and she was the VP, but I have never forgotten her. She was larger than life to me, and a role model as a strong, professional woman. I thought of her today, in 2018, and am sad to hear of her passing.

Ms. Batiste-Brown was my Social Studies teacher at Meany Middle School also. I will never forget her either. She was a fabulous young teacher then and I will never forget the times in her classroom.
She was so energetic, passionate about teaching and caring.

To Charles and the family of Patricia Batiste-Brown: Pat was an amazing person, a mentor and a talented quilter that will truly be missed. Pat showed me how to quilt and bind my first quilt. Pat was such friendly, supportive, caring, kind and very loving person. I will never forget her support she shared with me. Not enough wonderful words to decide her.
