Shoveling with Pat and Ed, circa 1984

I grew up across the street from Pat and Ed on Canterbury Road, and Pat was a wonderful neighbor, and closer to a grandmother to me. I have fond memories of going over to their house for cookies when I was very little, and later going over to shovel their driveway in winter (see pic; I could do it myself when I got older!). My strongest, fondest memory of Pat, though, is synonymous with summer: seeing Pat across the street, gardening away, and producing to most beautiful, well-loved garden...

PAT & ED & CHRISTOPHER

I will miss Pat so very much. She was not only a colleague, but a very dear friend, a gentle and kind woman, a strong voice and advocate for children and all animals. She loved both with passion. During that time, they showered us with love that took many forms. Pat was a genuinely sweet, kind, caring person, an excellent listener, a faithful friend, an enthusiastic fan, a great cook, an ardent gardener, a dedicated pet (cat and dog) owner, etc. The...
