Dearest Trish,

We visited your grave site and left flowers to commemorate the first anniversary of your passing, as did other family members throughout the day. Mom also placed a sparkling star baloon amongst the flowers.

We had our traditional family dinner to celebrate your son Thomas's 18th birthday. We also attended his high school graduation ceremony. You would be proud of him.

Your son Julio is going to DVC and is making good grades.

Trish added her own special celebration occasion to the family calendar each year, noting her "half birthday". So we think of Trish with a smile today, April 5th, on her "half birthday".

It has all most been a year since our bright star had burned out. I think about you daily Aunt Trish. I wish you were still here.

I had the good fortune of knowing Trish professionally for only a short few years, but in all of my interactions with Trish, I was always impressed with her bright attitude and intellect. Along with her other friends, I will miss her very much.

I will always remember and love my wonderful, warm, funny, full of life niece, Trish. Since I know Trish is somewhere on the stairway to Heaven listening - at least in between teaching salsa to all the angels-to-be, I want to share with your friends and remind your family of a marvellous, funny story about our family enjoying each other's company that was not told at the memorial. Thomas and Julio, I am so sorry for your loss. Think and speak of her often to help keep her amazing spirit alive. I have known your mom for a long time and her never-ending optimism and friendship will always be remembered.
