Patricia Biles Obituary

Patricia Marie Keirnan Biles , 73, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2012 in the arms of her husband of 54 years, Louis Alexander Biles. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but lived nearly her entire life in Houston, Texas. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1957 and attended St. Thomas University.
She dedicated her life to her husband and eight children; Andrew Biles, James Biles, Patricia Michalek, Christine Hignett, Sarah McMeans, Joseph Biles, Mary Wong, Michael Biles, and treated each of their spouses as one of her own. Patti also loved and cherished her 26 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was the beloved daughter of James and Ann Keirnan and the faithful big sister of James Keirnan, Lexie Ofczarzak, Kathleen Keirnan, Maggie Farrar, Mike Keirnan, Mary Keirnan and Casey Keirnan.
Patti left behind a wealth of friends, neighbors and colleagues whom she loved very much, particularly her life long friend, Sheila O'Sullivan.
Patti was a devout Catholic and lived her life devoted to Jesus Christ. She has been an active parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Church for over 45 years. She was very proud to have educated her children in Catholic schools and made many sacrifices to do so.
She was the matriarch of a large and loving family. She was loved and admired by everyone in her life. Mom, you will be missed more than words can convey.
The Rosary and visitation will be at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 8200 Roos, Houston, Texas 77036, Friday, June 15 from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. The funeral services, also at St. Francis, will be Saturday, June 16 at 11:00 am.

What a remarkable woman. What a great relative and friend to have had. I never knew Patty to have anything but a smile on her face and laughter on her lips. Her contagious personality lit up our family reunions. Myself and the whole family extend our most sincere condolences. Goodbye Patty. Rest well. You will be missed by all forever.

To the Entire Huge Keirnan Family,

I have very fond memories growing up with Mary and spending weekends at Patty and Louis' home helping babysit the kids. It was always so much fun because Patty made me feel so at home, obviously a Keirnan tradition, as I always felt at home at the Keirnan home! I am so sorry for your loss, but I hope and pray that God grant you all peace.

With Much Love and Prayers,

To Patti and all the Biles Family,

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We were on that side of town earlier visiting with Fr. Wayne and had a chance to see Jimmy briefly at the church and express our condolences. We will keep you all in our prayers during this difficult time. There are many fond childhood memories of your family and my dad remarked how much he enjoyed playing bridge with your father those many years ago. Our love is with you.

The 'Biles House' was my second home for many years. Their door was (literally!) always open. I was the grateful recipient of much hospitality and made to feel welcome at all times. Patti will be sorely missed my far more people than yall will ever know. May God bless her & the entire Biles Clan.

MY FAMILY AND I ARE SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF PATTI. MAY GOD GRANT YOU THE PEACE AND COMFORT THAT YOU NEED AT THIS HARD TIME IN YOUR LIVES.

June 15, 2012

Like many of her friends, I go way back to high school days. I was a married Freshman at Rice, and Patti insisted that the guy she was dating then( sorry Louie, wasn't you then)GIVE, not sell me his books, because she knew Mary and I were struggling. What a happy moment when my son Johnny came home one day, years later, and told me he was dating Patti Lou, not even knowing I knew her mother. That sealed a long and loving relationship with the Biles and with "Big" Patti. Mary and I love you, Patti, and the Biles family is very special, in large part due to their Mom.

I was the 'new kid' on the block and Mrs. Biles was one of the first neighbors to come over and say hello. Made me and my boys feel welcome from day one ... will miss her hellos and waves from across the street.
