Cox Collins Funeral Home - Mullins Obituary

Patricia F, Boatwright

Mrs. Patricia Anne Foxworth Boatwright, 90, entered her eternal home Saturday, July 26th, 2025. Born in Marion, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Ruby Wright Foxworth.

Pat, as she was known by her friends, was a graduate of Marion High School. She was a homemaker, wife, mother and an active member of her church. Pat was a member of the DAR, and a founding member of the Martha Ministry at the Marion Presbyterian Church. She loved any opportunity to serve others. She enjoyed playing bridge with her girlfriends, enjoyed various book clubs, and was a member of the Azalea Garden Club and circle groups through the years.

Pat spent 72 wonderful years as wife to her sweetheart, Edward Austin Boatwright, and was mother to Steven Earl Boatwright (Julia) of Myrtle Beach and Katherine Boatwright Flowers (Marshall) of Darlington. Her greatest love aside from her Lord was that of her family. She was a loving grandmother of four and a great grandmother of nine. She was known as “Mimi” and her beloved name of “Mimi-Muffin,” Pat considered her greatest joy in life that of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Boatwright was preceded in death by her beloved sister Helen Marie Jordan and her loving brother William Stacey Foxworth.

The family will hold a private burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion on Thursday, July 31st.

A funeral service for Ms. Pat will follow later Thursday afternoon, July 31st at 3:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary of Marion Baptist Church, with the Reverend Adam Work officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, there at the Church.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the loving caregivers and wonderful staff at the Hospice House in Florence, SC, as well as to Steve Jordan, Ms. Maxine and to Karen and Perry Grice.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the Thornwell Home for Children, 302 South Broad Street, Clinton, South Carolina 29325 or online https://www.scpictureproject.org/donate.

We grew up in Marion and had the privilege of knowing Mrs Boatwright. She was always very kind and was interested in our activities and our lives even after we grew up and lived elsewhere. She was a sweet lady who had a keen sense of humor and always had a beautiful smile.
I wish her beloved family strength and peace as they experience cherished memories and traditions that she has lovingly left behind for them. God Bless her family.

She is a beautiful lady. I know she will be deeply missed. Sending all much love and prayers.

Mrs Pat was such a loving and caring soul. She was kind , considerate and always demonstrating empathy and concern for others. She was a Godly Woman who loved her Lord and her Family. The Flowers family was blessed to when Marshall found Kathi and their marriage brought the Flowers and Boatwright families together . and from that union , we were so blessed to be able to get to know and love Ms Pat and have her in our lives .
