I met Patty last year at Milwaukee Irish Festival. She was our stage manager and we instantly connected. Over the course of the festival we laughed and giggled so much and I was blown away by her incredible passion for physics and the outdoors. It´s hard to put into words how special she was even though I only briefly knew her we stayed in touch and I was discussing the possibility of doing a hike with her in the US next year. Patty and I went to BC together, and we first bonded during a sophomore volunteer trip when we realized we were both from Wisconsin. Patty and I became much closer a couple years after graduation, when I moved to Salt Lake City and began seeing Patty every couple months when she drove her van through town. Every time Patty came to town was a delight - she'd always ask to meet up for a beer or coffee, embraced me into her circle of friends, and say "yes" to any adventure we already have...

Our entire family wraps their arms around yours today. Andrew and Patty are heartbreakingly eternalized with their arms around each other, too. I hope that all of us can find some peace in that someday.
