Patricia Brown Obituary

Patricia Leigh Brown
1931-2020

Patricia Leigh Brown, 89, of Tomball, TX, died on November 27, 2020. She was a native Houstonian and a graduate of Lamar High School. Mom was preceded in death by our incomparable father, Preston H. Brown, whom she loved every day until her own passing, though she was known to admonish him now and then for having left her too soon.
Mom loved quietly. She loved reading, (stacks of novels teetered on the floor beside her bed), "puttering around" in the yard; and, always, endlessly, she enjoyed crosswords. Her mind remained sharp as a tack until her last days.
Mom shared with her children, an intense love of animals, primarily strays. As a testament to her good citizenship, Mom, on a fixed income, paid for the neutering of many feral cats – a few of which became dear companions as indoor-outdoor cats. "Mama Kitty" curled lovingly at her feet in some of the final days before Mom passed.
Survived by one beloved brother, Charles W. Leigh, Jr., of Richmond, and his wife, Candy. Preceded in death by one cherished sister, Virginia Wiggins.
Children: Catherine Leigh Bedford and husband Randy of Spring, Susan C Brown and partner Brad Taylor of New York, Preston "Andy" Brown and wife Tiffany of Katy, Patrick Brown and wife Michele of Tomball, and Ann E. Nichols and husband Brent of Tomball. Grandchildren: Amanda Leigh Fox, Ryan D. Bedford, Iris Taylor-Brown and Ella R. Brown. Patricia had one great-grandchild, Preston W. Fox. Much loved nieces and nephews are among those left behind.
