O'Brien Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services - South Hadley Obituary

Patricia (Organowski) Cross passed away early on April 20, 2024 at 76 years of age following continued complications from a recent accident. Pat, or PC as her friends called her, was born in Northampton and was surrounded by her loved ones before her passing.

Pat attended Northampton public schools and completed coursework at Holyoke Community College.  As a youth, she worked at several farms in the Northampton area. She worked for Big Y supermarkets in the frozen food department for 25 years.  She also served the Northampton Police Department as Parking Supervisor for 21 years, before her retirement and downtown Northampton celebration and heartfelt congratulations in 2009.

Pat was a gifted bowler, having bowled perfect games and several 700+ pin series.  She enjoyed tournament bowling and competed in 23 national tournaments and was an alternate for the US Olympic Bowling Team twice.  She coached and mentored young bowlers for much of her career.  Pat also enjoyed softball, volleyball, crafting, baking, bingo, and casino games.  Her interest in sports extended to watching the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots.  She was also a part of three area choruses and choirs.  She was also a committed member of various church communities throughout her life.

Pat is survived by her husband, partner, and soulmate Kenneth, her son Christopher and his children Meredith and Max, and her son Kyle and his wife Liz Anderson.  She also leaves her brother Wayne Organowski and his wife Sandra.  She is predeceased by her mother Jeanette (Lococo) and Father Walter Organowski, her brother Richard Organowski and his wife Linda, her sister Janet Carrier and husband Buddy as well as her sister Phyllis Ryan and her husband Tom.  She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, neighbors, and friends.

The family invites all who knew and loved Pat and her wonderful life to a celebration of life at the Northampton Elks Lodge #997 in Florence on May 18th from 11:00 to 3:00 pm.

Not sure what to say?

Ken and Family, I am so very sorry to hear about Pat's passing. She was a terrific lady, and I will always appreciate all that she did coaching me and the other junior bowlers that I grew up with. More than that, although we didn't see each other as often in more recent years, she always greeted me with a smile and a hug when we did see each other, and I will cherish the memories of reminiscing with her about my younger bowling days.
