Not sure what to say?

Hank, Michael, David and families - I still miss her, and always will....she was a wonderful mentor when I returned to Ann Arbor from Connecticut in 1990. Katie Parker

I did not know that Patty passed away. My condolences to her family. I LOVED Patty! She was my son's principal at Wines Elementary School and I considered her a friend. She was a fierce advocate for children; she still stands out to me as the most child-centered person I have ever met. She was irreverent, not inclined to follow the rules unless she believed that they were in the best interest of children, and an unwavering and genuine supporter of every child, especially those who were black,...

Patty was the principal at Northside when my daughter started school, and she was just what every school should seek in a principal: compassionate, funny, smart and a great leader. It made me realize not only how important to the students it is to have a good principal, but how principals set the tone for the whole school. She amazingly knew the names of all the children within the first week...

I am very sorry for your family's loss. Remember that you are never alone during times of loss. God promises to be with you in difficult times, "to give thoughts of peace and a hope". Jeremiah 29:11, 12

Patty was an inspiration to so many of us and will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, determined and gifted educator who always reminded us that doing the right thing was the way to proceed. She will be missed in so many ways. ❤

Patty was a positive voice in many areas concerning Northport. She will be missed. Condolences to Hank and the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Patty truly was a special person and the guidance and mentoring she showed me so that I could obtain my first administrative position was the true spirit in which Patty lived her life every day. Sending much love you way - Lisa and John Nickel, Chelsea, MI

Dear Hank and Family
I have so many great memories of Patty working to make AAPS a better place for all children to learn and grow. She was one of a kind!
My condolences.

We both worked with Patty for virtually all of her years in AAPS, and just loved her energy, spirit, professionalism, sense of humor, student advocacy, and her many other wonderful traits. Patty was a hero in her life's work, and we were proud to have shared time with her as a colleague and a friend.
