Patricia D. Godley

Patricia Ann (Daughton) Godley, age 76, a resident of Grimesland, NC, died on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

To honor Ann’s wishes, there will not be a viewing or graveside services.

The family will receive family and friends at the Godley residence on Smithtown Road, Grimesland, NC.

Ann was born in Beaufort County on August 8, 1946, daughter of John Paul Raymond and Helen Daughton, who preceded her in death. She married William P. Godley, Jr. on April 1, 1967. 

Ann is survived by her husband William, her children: Jena Godley and husband Michael Torres of Bernalillo, NM, and William P. Godley, III and his wife Denise of Washington, NC. Three brothers: Paul Jr., Robert, Perry Daughton; and one brother, Thomas Daughton who preceded her in death. One sister, Robin ‘Sue’ Stoy of Hollidaysburg, PA and husband George. Grandchildren: Kirsten Godley, Cole Godley and his wife Claire, Bryce Godley-Wilmoth, Trevor Godley-Wilmoth and Hayden Denny.

Ann worked at Eastern Optical as an optometry lab assistant, making eye glasses from 1970 - 2010. She also was a cosmetologist in her beauty salon from 1988 - 2013.

Ann enjoyed taking exotic trips to other countries and traveling throughout the U.S. She especially enjoyed walking on the beach collecting shells. 

In lieu of flowers the family kindly ask that memorial contributions be made in Ann’s name to Project Healing Waters - NM Chapter or the Wounded Warriors Project.
