I first met Pat Hanlon at a Lifelong Adult Ministry dinner at St. Mary Parish in Hudson. I had recently returned to the parish after several years away and didn't know anyone in the ministry. Pat noticed I was alone and, with her characteristic warmth, invited me to join her and her daughter, Stacey, at their table. In that simple gesture, I witnessed what defined Pat throughout her 94 years: she never knew a stranger, and she made everyone feel welcome. It didn't surprise me to later...
