Pat was a great friend and the only person I could call at midnight and know she would be up. We both injured our backs at the same time and went to the same chiropractor together for months.
We spent months feeding one feral kitty to put her in a barn program.
Pat would go early to feed her and talk to her and the cat eventually just walked into the trap so we took her to the Ashland shelter and they placed her in a barn program where she was safe and warm.
I sure will miss you Pat.

Pat was a wonderful, compassionate, and loving person. She did so much work for Charles River Feline Rescue of Waltham in 2003 - 2004 helping socialize and adopt 300+ cats and kittens in the Waltham/Newton area. She was so much fun when we would get together for dinners and just helping out the cat world. I believe she is in a peaceful loving place that includes cats. Thank you, Pat, for all that did to help our kitties. You will be missed, dear Friend.

So very sorry to hear of this distressing news.
Pat was thoughtful and kind, and also an excellent newswoman. She was a terrific newsroom colleague who would and always did take the time to teach others, instruct, and lend a hand.
Personally speaking, I will always be grateful to her for very patiently helping me upgrade my layout skills when I was just starting out at The Telegram & Gazette -- even letting me have a copy of her notes on organizing a particular standalone section of the...

My memory of Pat is watching Star Wars together in 1978. I guess this is how it ends, and sadly. A certain tilt of the head, a letter written in 1989, a reintroduction, then a falling away. You thought the memory could always be eclipsed, but you find yourself accidentally surfing Facebook one day and find out that that's all that's left. --R

Pat and I always seemed to work on opposite ends of the newsroom, but I'll always remember her ability to get through the toughest deadlines and hassles with grace. RIP, Pat.

I worked with Pat at the News and will always remember her patience, steady calm (when the reporters weren't) and quiet sense of humor. We bonded over cat parenting stories. My condolences to her family and friends. She was a great lady and will be missed.
