Patricia "Pat" Lillis, age 77, of Brick, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at home. Born in New York City, NY, she lived in North Bergen and Weehawken prior to moving to Brick 18 years ago. She was a secretary for Jersey Shore Animal Center in Brick for over 18 years. She was extremely dedicated to the shelter and continued to work 3 days a week until her passing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome Lillis in 1981. Pat is survived by her children, Michael Lillis and his wife, Kathleen of Ephrata, PA, Mark Lillis and his partner Paul Nestmann of Hackensack and her daughter, Kerri Garrido of Brick. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Cooper of Eatontown and her 4 loving grandchildren, Brian Lillis and his wife, Danielle, Sean Lillis and Caitlin and Kelly Garrido. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bailey.
Visitation will be Wed. 2-4 & 7-9pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd., Brick. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thurs. 11am at Church of the Visitation, Brick. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, NJ 08723.

I didn't know Pat well but I knew her for 40 years. A person's character is truly reflected in her children. Pat raised 3 wonderful children, one of whom I have been close to for 40 years and is one of the kindest men I know. She will live on in them and her grandchildren. Her beauty can be seen in all their eyes. My heartfelt sympathy to my dear friend Mark, his sister Kerri, brother Michael and all the family. May your special loving memories offer you comfort and may she rest in peace.

I'm both surprised and very sorry to hear of Ms. Pat's passing.I only got to know Pat latter in life. She was friends of both my parents before they ever married while living in Jersey City. She offered me valuable info about my extended family I never would have known without her help, and we last traded emails just weeks ago. I would have loved to have met her personally. I know such a sweet a friend she's been to me, she'll be extremly missed by all. May God Bless.

I have worked with Pat since I was sixteen years old at JSAC. She has been like an unofficial grandmother to me and I will miss the storytelling, laughing, and joking with her very much. What a wonderful person! Love to all in her family, I wish you all the best in this time of grief.
