Patricia Armbruster Emmitt Mackie

Patricia Armbruster Emmitt Mackie of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully on Sunday, August, 8, 2021, after a two year battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Keith Mackie, mother of Sara Emmitt and Samantha Emmitt, preceded in death by her parents Kathleen (Coll) and Martin J. Armbruster and brother John Armbruster; survived by six siblinds; Joanne Wright, Ron (Peg) Armbruster, Kate (Jim) Mastronie, Paul (Chris) Armbruster, Ed Armbruster, Anne (Dave) Gladfelter, and by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Patty grew up in the neighborhood of Greenfield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She studied at the Art Institute in Pittsburgh, then moved to Bolder, Colorado, where she started her family. She later returned to school and earned a nursing degree. After raising her daughters, she moved to Portland, Oregon and worked as an oncology nurse and as a nurse in hospice care.

Patty was a devoted mother, loving wife, sister, friend, and compassionate nurse. She was a creative artist who enjoyed painting, design, and nature-based card making. The world has lost a wise and beautiful shining soul. Patty's generous spirit has long enriched many lives and will continue to live on in the hearts she has touched.
