I sent an earlier email thinking I was referring to Pat Maris, former wife of MLB home run hitter, Roger Maris. It's apparent I was not aware that Patricia Lynn Maris is a different person and not the wife of ex-MLB player Roger Maris. I apologize for my error.

I've lived all but 4 of my 67 years in North Dakota and was 11 years old when Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's home run record. I'm still as proud today of Roger Maris' 61 home runs as I was at age 11. Later as an adult, I read and learned more about Pat Maris. What a wonderful mother she was to (as Roger often said) raise their 4 children often on her own due to Roger's baseball comittments. I have enormous respect for Pat Maris as a wife who supported Roger during the difficult 1961 season...
