Patricia A. McGill Northampton, MA - On April 24, 2024 our beloved, Patty McGill, passed away in her sleep, in her apartment in Northampton. "Hamp" or "Noho," it did not matter to her. She grew up going to her grandparents' house near the Tri-County Fairgrounds and she knew everyone in...

Not sure what to say?

I met her once while she was playing music (I forget where) and we chatted for a while about music and how we both attended HRHS and about bicycling. I commented how she looked like Joan Baez. She was very sweet with an infectious smile.

I knew Patty in Plainfield, VT in the 80s from the Winooski Valley Co-op and from WGDR. I always remember 2 things about Patty. First was her saying that she should become a therapist and she'd hang out a shingle that just said "Get over it!" Also, on the radio one night, she said that her dog had recently gotten "skunked". Since she didn't have tomato juice in the house, she poured a jar of salsa on the dog and rubbed it into [her?his?]fur. It didn't work very well and "Now the dog smells...

So sorry for your loss. Patty was like a big sister that I looked up to in my high school and young adult years. I was impressed by her musical talent and confidence and supported by her caring steady presence. Patty you will be missed. Rest in peace sweet soul

So sorry for the loss of your sister It is especially difficult to lose a siblings My thoughts and prayers are with you Love Ruth

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Patty's passing. Patty and I were in the same class at Westhampton Center school. We took tap and ballet dance lessons together, had occasional after school visits, and were in the same girl scout troops--including the junior high group that took that memorable Nova Scotia trip! Our younger brothers were the same age--exactly. Our families became friends for many years. Patty and I reconnected a few times over the years, in college once for a fun...

Dear Erin, I never got to know Patty. She may have stopped over when others in the family were paying a visit. She stayed outside and now I realize it might have been her allergies. I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. That is a sadness I have experienced fairly recently and it goes deep. I am feeling your loss. With fond regards, Elizabeth-- still thankfully living in your house.

Erin, Please accept my deepest condolences. May your sister rest in peace.

Dear Gilly, I am so very sad to receive this news of Patti's passing. I always admired her free spirit and perseverance. Patti was so matter-of-fact and practical while simultaneously whimsical, often waxing poetic. I have this great image of Patti in my mind: she's strumming her guitar, crooning that refrain about a rooster crowing, wearing a big sweater, flowing skirt, and woolly socks. Patti had terrific stage presence. Patti had terrific presence all the way around, so long as she was in...
