James A. McAlister Cremation Obituary

Patricia (Tricia) Morgan Milner passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 3, 2013.

Born in Jackson, Tennessee to Walter (Sonny) and Patricia (Patty) Morgan, Tricia spent her childhood there before leaving to attend Villa Duchesne Prep school in St. Louis.

After graduating from Villa Duchesne, Tricia continued her studies at her mother's alma mater, Randolph-Macon Women's College. She later graduated from Randolph-Macon with honors and moved to Nashville to work.

Tricia met her husband, Bill, while on a trip to the Smoky Mountains with a friend. They married on April 16, 1977 and settled in Charleston, S.C., where Tricia made her home for the past 36 years.

Tricia became known as the "Treat Lady" of Ansonborough, and neighbors and their dogs stopped daily at her home to grab a biscuit or two from the jar she kept outside. For most, it was just an excuse to see Tricia, to chat and listen to her infectious laugh.

Tricia always had a treat and pat for her furry friends, and a warm smile and hugs for their human companions.

She loved spending time boating with Bill. Not only was she Bill's first mate in life, she was his first mate on Red Sky, their boat.

Tricia also loved spending time outdoors playing a good round of golf with friends.

Tricia's faith was extremely important to her. She was very involved as a parishioner of St. Mary's, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister.
Tricia's family, however, was the center of her life. Memories of trips, family gatherings and just day-to- day fun will be with us always. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, stepchildren, parents and brother unconditionally. That sweet, loving, giving spirit will be missed by all.
Tricia was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Patty Morgan, and her brother, Sonny Morgan.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bill; son Morgan (wife Jennifer);
daughter Margo, stepsons Steve (wife Shelton), Will and grandchildren Jack, Ben, Piper and Finn.

She also leaves behind her sister in-laws and their families, loving cousins and many friends.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Milner are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Monday, April 8, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 89 Hasell St. The Rite of Committal will be at a later date in Tennessee. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Carolina Yacht Club, 50 East Bay Street. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Love and prayers to a grieving family from one who first saw Tricia's smiling face many years ago. Once I saw that smile, I knew immediately she would be a beam in my life and that she was.

Love and best thoughts to a grieving family from someone who knew Trisha from long ago.

Bill,
My husband, Chris, and I have been sitting with you and Tricia for almost 10 years in the upper balcony of St. Mary's church. I was so sorry to hear about her passing this last Sunday. I will never forget the gift she gave to me when my son was born, a crib cross. I will think of her when I look at it. He is 5 years old now and it hangs on the wall of his bedroom. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Stephanie and Chris McGuffin

Bill and family,

I am deeply saddened to learn of Patricia's death.

I have known Patricia since childhood and have so many fond memories of weekends at her lovely home and in my childhood home in downtown Jackson, TN; shopping trips to Memphis; Tricia honking the horn of her little Morris Minor; and occasional visits with her in Charleston.

Patricia's enthusiasm for life will be sorely missed.

May you be comforted in knowing...
